Clouds, especially the thin wispy type, are one type of indicator of the interesting fluid “structures” that seem to develop within air and water.
This was drawn directly from a real cloud seen in the sky. I had previously prepared a sheet of paper for doing such a drawing, by painting the paper a sky blue (a colour that required quite a bit of mixing to get it to feel satisfactory, based on comparing it with the many real blues in the sky). Even though the clouds above us are constantly changing, they, like the waves in the sea, are phenomena that would look largely the same now as they would have done millions of years ago.
