15 cm (w) x 21 cm (h), black biro on cartridge paper. Date produced: May 2000
Drawn on-site in Repton Road, Somerton Park, near my home (at that time) at North Brighton. Repton Road is lined on both sides with mature Weeping Myrtle trees. I find the forms within the trunks and main boughs of these trees (and in most trees) to be very interesting and quite ‘figurative’ in nature. All of the trunks of the weeping myrtles in this street are quite different, and unique. I found that cross-sectional contour lines (that were ‘felt’ or ‘imagined’ using my stereoscopic vision of the real forms) help to define the forms.
