This was drawn directly from a model giving various short poses. It uses a special drawing technique, as described for the earlier drawing “My Right Hand”.

I concentrated on drawing the outlines I could see, without looking at my drawing as I drew. I just concentrated on the outlines and ‘felt’ my way around the shapes and details.

I like the resulting lines. They contain a lot of accuracy, subtlety, and character, and have a refreshing boldness. I also like the spatial interactions resulting from the overlapping of what are effectively many individual drawings (of the parts).
