This was drawn completely on-site in Botanic Park in Adelaide, within one three hour session. Botanic Park has a good number of stately Moreton Bay fig trees, among other large trees, and open flat areas. The Moreton Bay Fig trees here were huge, and the whole area felt special to be in. I felt a bit dwarfed by these magnificent trees with their high buttress root walls, especially when sitting on my stool. But I did enjoy being in this lovely place for several hours. Beautiful bird calls could be heard, and lovely moist fragrances filled my nostrils. There was a lovely interplay of sunlight and shadows across the whole scene.

I enjoyed Botanic Park. It is a park that is open to everyone. It is situated next to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.

I found that the sanguine (blood) coloured conté sticks had a creamy smooth feel to them. I found that the bistre (dark brown) coloured conté sticks felt a bit scratchy/slightly inconsistent in density, and the black coloured conté sticks felt a bit oily/greasy, and were difficult to blend well with my fingers. Colour-wise, I would have preferred to use dark brown or black conté sticks, but the superb feel of the sanguine sticks made them my preferred choice of conté sticks to draw with.
