This image came about from considerable development of ideas and sketches, focusing on specific concepts to do with being an artist. I have tried to explain a process, experienced by at least one artist – me. There are various types of eyes shown, referring to the different levels in which we can respond to things. Eg. We can see things literally, and we can sometimes see more deeply into things that happen. I also included a symbol for inspiration, and one for a ‘roving’ or searching thought.

I enjoyed the boldness in the actual painting of this image and the subtlety within the concepts behind it.
