Stones, Shells and Sand on the Beach

6,200 x 3,600 pixel digital image, produced from a photograph, using my abstract image computer program.

Here, I made up the image using randomly orientated small rectangles, which give the image a look and feel of being made up of facets, like the stones are. I increased the saturation a little, to bring out a bit more variety in the colouring.

The rocks shown here that are purple-grey in colour are from the layered cliff rocks that have been analysed by geologists to have formed around 600 million years ago - amazing!

Orange Rocks

5,600 x 4,200 pixel digital image, produced from a photograph, using my abstract image computer program.

The orange colouring is actually lichen growing on the rocks. Obviously, the lichen is not adversely affected by the sea air. This scene has a wide dynamic range of tone, yet good subtlety in the shadow regions. It has a good sense of warm afternoon sunlight in the colours and tones depicted.

Top of the Cliff

6,200 x 3,600 pixel digital image, produced from a photograph, using my abstract image computer program.

Here, I've used bold strokes to develop a more abstract image. Much of the original surface detail has been lost, and only the larger changes in tone or colour remain. My program is able to read the subtle changes in colour within each main area of the photograph.
