Looking at the spiral structure of a shell, I saw a model for a visual description of time. Starting at the centre of the shell, the structure develops in ever-increasing rings and gets larger by adding to what is already there. Sections of changing patterns within each ring, combine with patterns from other rings to somehow create shapes that seem to ‘overlap’ consecutive rings of time.
