Looking Across the Valley

6,200 x 3,600 pixel digital image, produced from a photograph, using my abstract image computer program.

I am standing on an outcrop of white limestone, looking across a small valley to see 'The Sugarloaf' on the other side.

I am very pleased with this seemingly quick and 'loose' bold painting, which actually covers a wide-angle view of part of The Amphitheatre. I have increased the saturation of the colours read from the photograph.

Another seemingly quick and 'loose' painting, created from a different photograph taken from standing on top of The Amphitheatre. I especially like the subtlety of colour in this image. This image uses different areas with different rules for the orientation of the applied elements.

Wide View from Above The Amphitheatre No. 3

6,200 x 3,600 pixel digital image, produced from a photograph, using my abstract image computer program.

This is looking quite 'painterly' and abstract. This image used the same photograph that the previous image used. The main difference is the use of larger, longer strokes, and some 'averaging' of colours to create more blending between strokes. The angles of the strokes have been determined from the value (how dark or how light) of the read colours.
