Computer Kinetic Abstract 2102

1280 pixels (w) x 1024 pixels (h), computer ‘painting’ using my own ‘kinetic’ abstract computer program.
Date produced: 27th October 2006

This abstract image is a larger image than the previous abstracts. It represents an increase in my computer screen size, going from 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high to 1280 pixels wide by 1024 pixels high. I think it also represents a change in computer monitor technology for me, going from a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitor to a flat Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen. I remember being very impressed by the clarity, ‘flatness’ and the thinness of the new LCD display.

This abstract creates a sense of space by having a network of solidly coloured line segments over a background where very dark tones blend slowly to areas of lighter tones. The background was developed first. The network of random line segments (actually long, thin rectangles) was then built up over the top of that background.

Computer Kinetic Abstract 2132d

1280 pixels (w) x 1024 pixels (h), computer ‘painting’ using my own ‘kinetic’ abstract computer program.
Date produced: 14th January 2007

This abstract image makes a lot of use of ‘open rectangles’, over a background built up from filled rectangles and filled circles.

Computer Kinetic Abstract 2114b

1280 pixels (w) x 1024 pixels (h), computer ‘painting’ using my own ‘kinetic’ abstract computer program.
Date produced: 15th December 2006

This abstract image makes strong use of a mostly flat purple background. A ‘simple drawing’ of black lines surrounding a small patch of green helps set up a poetic balance throughout the whole image.
