Row of Tamarisk Pines 2

Row of Tamarisk Pines 2
75 cm x 42 cm, conté and pastels on acid-free coloured-ground ‘Canson’ paper.
Date produced: While living at North Brighton (1992-2004).

Here I’ve used a curved-space projection to exaggerate the expression of the width of view.

I really wanted to express the glow of sunlight on this row of pine trees, so the colours are intense, especially the oranges and yellows.

I’ve added imaginary ’angles’ (drawn as black lines under each tree’s foliage, with intense orange ’vertical’ lines) to give an indication of the orientation of each tree in the row of trees.
